They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Caleb Williams is the Commanders' quarterback, full stop.
Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Wright. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped tight end, which is a strange place to end up. The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.
Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
No drama and no debate, Caleb Williams went about where he belonged in the 2nd pick. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Troy Fautanu in pick 36. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Tyler Guyton at the Round 2 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Adisa Isaac at Round 3, Pick 3 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
A tidy bit of business in slot 100, where Jamari Thrash graded well above the range. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Zak Zinter at pick No. 102 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Circle this one: Jarrian Jones at the 141st overall pick is a fall that decides a draft. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
The board fumbled Jaylen Wright all the way to No. 181, and they scooped it up. It fills a real need, too.
They robbed the room for Myles Jones here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
