The Cowboys spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Ajani Cornelius, the No. 114 name on the board, in the Round 5 slot. Good, not great, and the B says as much.
The cornerback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. On the needs board they went 5 of 8, with wide receiver the one that mattered most. Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a featured back, and a steal at that. A clean fit for the roster.
A safety of that caliber at pick 44 is the definition of value, full stop. A minor itch, scratched.

Circle this one: Pat Bryant at the 174th overall pick is a fall that decides a draft. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
