This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Jeffrey Bassa, the No. 131 name on the board, stolen at pick No. 219.
The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Spending an early pick on linebacker with edge rusher, interior defensive lineman and other spots open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to.
The Justin Jefferson deal gives the class an established piece to lean on.
A strong weekend's work, and a rare one to find this little fault with.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 19 they get a blindside protector at a price that makes it sweeter. A clean fit for the roster.
They barely believed it either: Malaki Starks still on the board at No. 37. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Steal is underselling it; Tyler Warren at the 38th pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Jalon Walker at Round 2, Pick 26 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
They robbed the room for Omarion Hampton here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It fills a real need, too.
Elic Ayomanor in pick 88 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.

A top-tier specialist at a bargain, Andres Borregales in No. 196, plain and simple. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
A linebacker of that caliber at Round 7, Pick 1 is the definition of value, full stop. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
DJ Campbell in the 222nd pick is fair value, right on his grade. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
James Burnip in slot 223 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
