Somewhere a general manager is explaining how De'Corian Clark got past him. The Cowboys do not have to explain a thing at Round 6, Pick 37. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.
For all the activity, cornerback went untouched, which is hard to explain. Reaching for Capehart left real value on the table behind him.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but cornerback.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a cornerstone up front at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Edgerrin Cooper in pick 56 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
A reach on McKinnley Jackson in No. 87; the board had better options right there. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
They did well to land Cedric Gray in the Round 4 slot, just ahead of his grade. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Value with a capital V on LaDarius Henderson in the 174th overall pick, a genuine coup. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
De'Corian Clark at the 212th pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
DeMonte Capehart at Round 7, Pick 25 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
