New York Giants

The Giants cashed the board's mistake on Morrison: B+.

Thirty-one other rooms let Benjamin Morrison slide, and the Giants were the ones holding the card at the 102nd overall pick. Highway robbery. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B+.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped wide receiver, which is a strange place to end up. The trade work was a quiet net positive.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but wide receiver.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.8 · Pick 8 · James Pearce Jr. · DL-EDGE · rank 1
In Round 1, Pick 8 they get a disruptor off the edge at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
R2.8 · Pick 40 · Travis Hunter · CB · rank 2
Taking Travis Hunter in pick 40 is close to grand larceny; a cornerback that good had no business lasting this long. A need, and now a little less of one.
R2.15 · Pick 47 · Mason Graham · DL · rank 4
Somehow Mason Graham was still sitting there in No. 47, and they pounced on premier interior defensive lineman value. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
R3.6 · Pick 70 · TreVeyon Henderson · RB · rank 50
Circle this one: TreVeyon Henderson at slot 70 is a fall that decides a draft. It fills a real need, too.
R4.6 · Pick 102 · Benjamin Morrison · CB · rank 10
Steal is underselling it; Benjamin Morrison at the Round 4 slot is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
R4.7 · Pick 103 · Deone Walker · DL · rank 11
The board fumbled Deone Walker all the way to the 103rd pick, and they scooped it up. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
R5.6 · Pick 134 · Xavier Nwankpa · S · rank 51
Xavier Nwankpa at the 134th overall pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
R5.16 · Pick 144 · Gavin Bartholomew · TE · rank 140
Nothing to complain about; Gavin Bartholomew went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
R6.6 · Pick 166 · Andrew Mukuba · S · rank 141
Andrew Mukuba at pick No. 166 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
R7.6 · Pick 198 · Grayson McCall · QB · rank 142
Grayson McCall in the 198th pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
R7.12 · Pick 204 · Keaten Wade · LB-EDGE · rank 203
Keaten Wade in Round 7, Pick 12 is fair value, right on his grade. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
R7.24 · Pick 216 · Marcus Harris · DE · rank 210
A clean, defensible pick in the Round 7 slot with a little surplus value in Marcus Harris. The roster fit checks out.
