New York Giants

The Giants cashed the board's mistake on Coleman: D-.

It is the swing that defines the weekend: Trey Knox in slot 226, a good 61 spots before the room expected him.

The Coleman value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down.

That interior defensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.6 · Pick 6 · Marvin Harrison Jr. · WR · rank 1
Marvin Harrison Jr. at No. 6 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
R2.15 · Pick 47 · Xavier Worthy · WR · rank 47
No drama and no debate, Xavier Worthy went about where he belonged in the 47th overall pick. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
R2.18 · Pick 50 · Edgerrin Cooper · LB · rank 48
A market-rate linebacker, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Edgerrin Cooper. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
R3.6 · Pick 70 · Kris Jenkins · DL-EDGE · rank 49
Somehow Kris Jenkins was still sitting there in Round 3, Pick 6, and they pounced on premier edge rusher value. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
R3.7 · Pick 71 · Renardo Green · S · rank 71
No edge and no loss on Renardo Green in the 71st overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
R3.31 · Pick 94 · Cole Bishop · S · rank 92
They paid sticker price for Cole Bishop in slot 94, and that is fine. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
R4.4 · Pick 104 · Kris Abrams-Draine · CB · rank 91
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Kris Abrams-Draine at No. 104 is the proof. It fills a real need, too.
R4.7 · Pick 107 · Zak Zinter · OG · rank 109
Zak Zinter at the Round 4 slot is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
R4.20 · Pick 120 · Keon Coleman · WR · rank 45
A top-tier wide receiver at a bargain, Keon Coleman in the 120th pick, plain and simple. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
R5.25 · Pick 161 · Caedan Wallace · OT · rank 135
They will replay Caedan Wallace at Round 5, Pick 25 for years; that is how good the value is. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
R5.30 · Pick 166 · Isaac Guerendo · RB · rank 138
Isaac Guerendo in pick No. 166 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
R5.35 · Pick 171 · AJ Barner · TE · rank 166
AJ Barner at pick 171 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the tight end. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
R6.10 · Pick 185 · Joe Milton III · QB · rank 216
Value said wait; Joe Milton III in the 185th overall pick says they were not listening. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
R6.21 · Pick 196 · Kamal Hadden · CB · rank 179
A slide stopped in pick No. 196, with Kamal Hadden worth more than the price. A need, and now a little less of one.
R6.38 · Pick 213 · Trente Jones · OT · rank 250
Trente Jones at Round 6, Pick 38 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
R7.6 · Pick 226 · Trey Knox · TE · rank 287
They reached into another round for Trey Knox, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
R7.10 · Pick 230 · Jaylen Harrell · DE-EDGE · rank 220
Value with a capital V on Jaylen Harrell in slot 230, a genuine coup. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
R7.12 · Pick 232 · Trey Taylor · S · rank 230
Trey Taylor in pick 232 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
R7.18 · Pick 238 · Bub Means · WR · rank 227
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Bub Means in No. 238. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
R7.27 · Pick 247 · Kedon Slovis · QB · rank 303
Kedon Slovis in the Round 7 slot is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
