If you want a masterclass in dealing, watch the Giants, who turned every swap into a profit this weekend. More right than wrong, and a B+ to match.
The King value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. They punted on interior defensive lineman, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
They went 7 of 9 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for. Jaylen Warren gives the group a proven body among the projects.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the interior defensive lineman spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 22 they get a sticky cover corner. A clean fit for the roster.
Brian Thomas Jr. in the 39th overall pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
A clean, defensible pick in slot 43 with a little surplus value in Tyler Guyton. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Bralen Trice at No. 46 is the proof. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
No edge and no loss on Jonah Elliss in the 47th pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Xavier Worthy slid further than he should have, and pick No. 50 is lovely value for the wide receiver. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
They barely believed it either: Kalen King still on the board at the Round 3 slot. A need, and now a little less of one.
Cooper Beebe at pick No. 83 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
A market-rate edge rusher, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Justin Eboigbe. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Ben Sinnott in slot 143 is fair value, right on his grade. The roster fit checks out.
Dallin Holker at the 145th pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
They took Edefuan Ulofoshio at par in No. 157, which is nothing to complain about. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
