You build a draft on nights like this. Sedrick Van Pran had no business being available in pick 165, and the Giants did the only sane thing and turned in the card.
Knox has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. They punted on interior defensive lineman, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
Good work on the whole, with interior defensive lineman the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 6 they get a weapon on the perimeter. The biggest hole, addressed.
Kris Jenkins slid further than he should have, and Round 2, Pick 26 is lovely value for the edge rusher. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Austin Booker in slot 70 is fair value, right on his grade. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
No edge and no loss on Ray Davis in the 93rd overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Malachi Corley at the Round 4 slot is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
A cornerback of that caliber at the 114th pick is the definition of value, full stop. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Good price on Zak Zinter in pick No. 115, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They jumped the gun on Caedan Wallace, taking him earlier than his grade liked. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Erick All at the 126th overall pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Kitan Oladapo at the 149th pick is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Anthony Gould at Round 5, Pick 17 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
They took Jordan Magee at par in pick No. 161, which is nothing to complain about. It adds depth where they could use a little.
They robbed the room for Sedrick Van Pran here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
The board fumbled Will Shipley all the way to the Round 5 slot, and they scooped it up. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
A tidy little value on AJ Barner in slot 169, a step better than break-even. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Joe Milton III in No. 183 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. The roster fit checks out.
Myles Harden at No. 210 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
A reach for Trey Taylor in the Round 6 slot; a little patience would have been rewarded. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
They reached a country mile for Trente Jones at Round 6, Pick 45, and the board is aghast. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
They did well to land KT Leveston in the 224th pick, just ahead of his grade. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Bub Means at pick No. 236 is the proof. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Steal is underselling it; Dylan Laube at pick 245 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It fills a real need, too.
Trey Knox at slot 246 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A need, and now a little less of one.
