When a board-topper like Brock Bowers slides to No. 70, you do not overthink it, and the Giants did not. The board pushed back all weekend, and the D is the result.
The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. They will need Wallace to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. The whole projection now runs through Jayden Daniels; hit there and everything else looks smarter.
The Giants paired the rookies with proven help, Cordell Volson leading the way.
Bottom line, they will be counting on several picks to beat their grades.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 10th pick they get a passer to set the clock by. A real need, handled.
In pick 11 they get a go-to option on the outside at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
No drama and no debate, Xavier Worthy went about where he belonged in the 49th overall pick. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
A top-tier tight end at a bargain, Brock Bowers in slot 70, plain and simple. The roster fit checks out.
Taking Dallas Turner in Round 3, Pick 7 is close to grand larceny; an edge rusher that good had no business lasting this long. A need, and now a little less of one.
They robbed the room for Terrion Arnold here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Circle this one: Ja'Tavion Sanders at the Round 3 slot is a fall that decides a draft. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
You do not let a safety like Tyler Nubin reach pick No. 74 and blink. They did not. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Austin Booker slid further than he should have, and the 93rd pick is lovely value for the edge rusher. It fills a real need, too.
A tidy bit of business in pick 94, where Renardo Green graded well above the range. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.

They took Tyrone Tracy Jr. at par in No. 146, which is nothing to complain about. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
No edge and no loss on Kitan Oladapo in Round 5, Pick 11; it is a wash and a sensible one. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They paid up for Jordan Travis at slot 164 when waiting would have done the job. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
