Larceny in slot 71 lands the Giants a B, Turner and all.

The Giants did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Dallas Turner fell into pick No. 71.

The Leveston reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. For all the activity, safety went untouched, which is hard to explain.

Interior defensive lineman is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.6 · Pick 6 · Malik Nabers · WR · rank 3
In No. 6 they get a matchup problem out wide. The biggest hole, addressed.
R2.15 · Pick 47 · Caleb Williams · QB · rank 2
You do not let a quarterback like Caleb Williams reach pick No. 47 and blink. They did not. The roster fit checks out.
R3.7 · Pick 71 · Dallas Turner · LB-EDGE · rank 14
Dallas Turner in pick 71 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It fills a real need, too.
R4.7 · Pick 107 · Brenden Rice · WR · rank 96
Brenden Rice at Round 4, Pick 7 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
R5.2 · Pick 138 · Caelen Carson · CB · rank 94
Steal is underselling it; Caelen Carson at slot 138 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
R5.5 · Pick 141 · Ray Davis · RB · rank 109
They barely believed it either: Ray Davis still on the board at the Round 5 slot. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
R6.8 · Pick 183 · Kamal Hadden · CB · rank 167
Nice patience on Kamal Hadden, who had no business lasting to the 183rd pick. A need, and now a little less of one.
R6.9 · Pick 184 · AJ Barner · TE · rank 171
A slide stopped in the 184th overall pick, with AJ Barner worth more than the price. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
R6.10 · Pick 185 · Fabien Lovett · DL · rank 183
No drama and no debate, Fabien Lovett went about where he belonged in pick 185. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
R6.11 · Pick 186 · Joe Milton III · QB · rank 200
Joe Milton III in the 186th pick is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
R6.12 · Pick 187 · Caedan Wallace · OT · rank 212
A wild overpay on Caedan Wallace in pick No. 187, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
R6.14 · Pick 189 · Trente Jones · OT · rank 194
They took Trente Jones at par in the Round 6 slot, which is nothing to complain about. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
R6.22 · Pick 197 · Brandon Coleman · OL · rank 185
Brandon Coleman at the 197th overall pick is money in the bank, a offensive lineman taken below his worth. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
R6.23 · Pick 198 · Tommy Eichenberg · LB · rank 145
They robbed the room for Tommy Eichenberg here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
R6.25 · Pick 200 · M.J. Devonshire · CB · rank 190
A quiet steal in Round 6, Pick 25: M.J. Devonshire for less than the market said. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
R6.28 · Pick 203 · Ty'Ron Hopper · LB · rank 181
They will replay Ty'Ron Hopper at No. 203 for years; that is how good the value is. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
R6.29 · Pick 204 · Steele Chambers · LB · rank 199
A reasonable price with a little left over, Steele Chambers in the 204th pick. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
R6.32 · Pick 207 · KT Leveston · OT · rank 242
A big swing on KT Leveston at the Round 6 slot, well ahead of any board in the building. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
