The Giants put a flag in the ground for Kitan Oladapo, 34 picks before anyone else would have, and the value took the hit.
J.J. McCarthy gives the offense a face and a plan, and the grade leans heavily on whether he hits. However the rest shakes out, Wilson at that price is a win they earned. Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere.
The Giants paired the rookies with proven help, David Long Jr. leading the way.
A rough weekend that leaves the roster with more questions than answers.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 9th overall pick they get a weapon on the perimeter at a price that makes it sweeter. The biggest hole, addressed.
In No. 16 they get a difference-maker at receiver, even if it was a touch early. Exactly the need they had to hit.
In the Round 1 slot they get their guy under center for the next decade, reach and all.
A quiet steal in Round 2, Pick 4: Kool-Aid McKinstry for less than the market said. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Bo Nix in the 47th pick. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Adonai Mitchell at pick 60 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Taking Ja'Tavion Sanders in pick No. 65 is close to grand larceny; a tight end that good had no business lasting this long. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.

A tidy little value on Dadrion Taylor-Demerson in Round 3, Pick 26, a step better than break-even. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Fair-plus on Trey Benson, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. A need, and now a little less of one.
