The Giants spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Dadrion Taylor-Demerson, the No. 163 name on the board, in pick No. 185. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.
A whole weekend of picks and interior defensive lineman is somehow still a want. Reaching for Milton III left real value on the table behind him.
They went 7 of 9 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a seam-stretching tight end at fair value. A real need, handled.
T.J. Tampa in pick No. 39 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
A slide stopped in Round 2, Pick 27, with Jonah Elliss worth more than the price. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Kingsley Suamataia in slot 70 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Malachi Corley at the 85th pick. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A clean, defensible pick in No. 108 with a little surplus value in Matt Goncalves. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
They took Ben Sinnott at par in pick 140, which is nothing to complain about. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
A reach for Joe Milton III in the 161st overall pick; a little patience would have been rewarded. It fills a real need, too.
