You build a draft on nights like this. Ricky Pearsall had no business being available in No. 183, and the Giants did the only sane thing and turned in the card. The math is unkind, and the D follows.
Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. The whole projection now runs through Jayden Daniels; hit there and everything else looks smarter.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through offensive lineman.
In the end, a class the front office will want to grow past quickly.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 6 they get a home-run threat at receiver. Exactly the need they had to hit.
In Round 1, Pick 7 they get the arm they will build around at fair value. A real need, handled.
Circle this one: Dallas Turner at Round 2, Pick 6 is a fall that decides a draft. A need, and now a little less of one.
Braden Fiske at pick No. 47 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Somehow Xavier Worthy was still sitting there in the Round 3 slot, and they pounced on premier wide receiver value. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
They will replay T.J. Tampa at the 107th pick for years; that is how good the value is. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Steal is underselling it; Kitan Oladapo at slot 166 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
You do not let a wide receiver like Ricky Pearsall reach pick 183 and blink. They did not. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Nehemiah Pritchett at the 242nd overall pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
