New York Giants

The Giants found their guy under center in Williams: B+.

The Giants did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Ainias Smith fell into Round 6, Pick 10.

Caleb Williams gives the offense a face and a plan, and the grade leans heavily on whether he hits. Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. The interior defensive lineman hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.6 · Pick 6 · Caleb Williams · QB · rank 2
Caleb Williams in the 6th overall pick is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
R2.7 · Pick 39 · Amarius Mims · OT · rank 22
A quiet steal in the 39th pick: Amarius Mims for less than the market said. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
R2.27 · Pick 59 · Adonai Mitchell · WR · rank 32
Adonai Mitchell in No. 59 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
R3.2 · Pick 66 · Ennis Rakestraw Jr. · CB · rank 38
Ennis Rakestraw Jr. at pick No. 66 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
R3.6 · Pick 70 · Xavier Legette · WR · rank 36
A top-tier wide receiver at a bargain, Xavier Legette in the Round 3 slot, plain and simple. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
R3.24 · Pick 87 · Brenden Rice · WR · rank 69
The board fumbled Brenden Rice all the way to the 87th pick, and they scooped it up. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
R3.32 · Pick 95 · Marshawn Kneeland · DE-EDGE · rank 104
Marshawn Kneeland at the 95th overall pick is a conviction pick that outran the value. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
R3.34 · Pick 97 · Mike Sainristil · CB · rank 81
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Mike Sainristil at pick 97 is the proof. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
R4.12 · Pick 112 · Blake Fisher · OT · rank 100
They read the board right and Blake Fisher was the payoff at Round 4, Pick 12. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
R5.7 · Pick 143 · Dallin Holker · TE · rank 145
By-the-book stuff, Dallin Holker at slot 143 squarely in line with his ranking. The roster fit checks out.
R6.2 · Pick 177 · Max Melton · CB · rank 111
Somehow Max Melton was still sitting there in slot 177, and they pounced on premier cornerback value. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
R6.10 · Pick 185 · Ainias Smith · WR · rank 116
Steal is underselling it; Ainias Smith at the 185th overall pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
R6.15 · Pick 190 · LaDarius Henderson · OT · rank 163
They barely believed it either: LaDarius Henderson still on the board at the 190th pick. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
R7.5 · Pick 225 · Emani Bailey · RB · rank 188
Circle this one: Emani Bailey at the Round 7 slot is a fall that decides a draft. A need, and now a little less of one.
R7.14 · Pick 234 · Jalen Berger · RB · rank 206
Jalen Berger at pick No. 234 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
