Some picks age like wine; Javontae Jean-Baptiste at No. 188 will need to, sitting 39 spots clear of his grade.
The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. So much rides on Jayden Daniels that the rest of the class almost grades on a curve behind him.
However the rest shakes out, Coleman at that price is a win they earned. That interior defensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
Spending an early pick on linebacker with interior defensive lineman open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to.
Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, interior defensive lineman very much included.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 6th pick they get the face of the franchise at fair value. A real need, handled.
In Round 1, Pick 15 they get a home-run threat at receiver, and a steal at that. The biggest hole, addressed.
In No. 27 they get an island corner, outstanding value to boot. A clean fit for the roster.
Darius Robinson at pick No. 39 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Edgerrin Cooper in pick 47 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
A curious use of the 48th overall pick. Interior defensive lineman needed the pick; a linebacker in Payton Wilson did not.
Good price on Jonathon Brooks in pick No. 49, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Kris Jenkins at the 50th pick nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
A reach for Christian Haynes in pick 53; a little patience would have been rewarded. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They paid sticker price for Blake Fisher in Round 3, Pick 6, and that is fine. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Value with a capital V on Malachi Corley in the Round 3 slot, a genuine coup. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.

They will replay Kris Abrams-Draine at slot 105 for years; that is how good the value is. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.

Cole Bishop at No. 109 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Sataoa Laumea at pick 118 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Khyree Jackson at the 119th overall pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It fills a real need, too.
A clean, defensible pick in slot 130 with a little surplus value in Dadrion Taylor-Demerson. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
By-the-book stuff, Jordan Travis at the Round 5 slot squarely in line with his ranking. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Taking Ben Sinnott in Round 5, Pick 17 is close to grand larceny; a tight end that good had no business lasting this long. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Xavier Thomas in pick No. 160. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Joe Milton III at the Round 5 slot is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. The roster fit checks out.
