Give the war room a raise for the dealing alone. The Broncos came out ahead on every exchange that mattered, and it was not close. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.
However the rest shakes out, Green at that price is a win they earned. They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it.
The Heidenreich pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
A quiet steal in No. 38: Dillon Thieneman for less than the market said. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Value with a capital V on Jacob Rodriguez in Round 2, Pick 30, a genuine coup. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Eli Stowers at pick 65 is money in the bank, a tight end taken below his worth. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
They let Jonah Coleman come to them and pounced at slot 108. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Darrell Jackson Jr. at the 111th overall pick nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
No edge and no loss on Travis Burke in the Round 5 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Bryce Boettcher in slot 170 is fair value, right on his grade. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Taylen Green in the 217th pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. The roster fit checks out.
Eli Heidenreich at pick No. 243 is a conviction pick that outran the value. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
