The rest of the league will want that one back. Jake Slaughter tumbling to the Jets in pick 103 is a gift they did not have to think twice about. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B+.
The Nussmeier pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a three-down runner, and a steal at that. A clean fit for the roster.
Kenyon Sadiq at the 24th pick is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A minor itch, scratched.
Garrett Nussmeier at pick No. 33 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
The board fumbled A.J. Haulcy all the way to No. 70, and they scooped it up. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Jake Slaughter in the 103rd overall pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A need, and now a little less of one.
CJ Daniels in slot 140 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Ar'maj Reed-Adams in Round 5, Pick 39 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and TJ Hall at pick 228 is the proof. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They read the board right and Dane Key was the payoff at the 242nd pick. The roster fit checks out.
