This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Kamal Hadden, the No. 168 name on the board, stolen at slot 191.
The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. They will need Wilson to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. Quarterback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 21st pick they get a blindside protector at fair value.
Braden Fiske at pick No. 55 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
The board had cheaper options than Johnny Wilson at the 116th overall pick, and it noticed. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Tommy Eichenberg in pick 158 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
They barely believed it either: Kamal Hadden still on the board at Round 6, Pick 16. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
By-the-book stuff, Joe Milton III at the Round 6 slot squarely in line with his ranking. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Nathan Thomas in No. 241. It fills a real need, too.
