The rest of the league will want that one back. Myles Jones tumbling to the Raiders in pick 234 is a gift they did not have to think twice about. The bottom line is a respectable B-.
For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. The roster is better shaped than it was, with cornerback chief among the fixes.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 13 they get a plug-and-play piece up front. Exactly the need they had to hit.
J.J. McCarthy at No. 44 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Braden Fiske in the Round 3 slot is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
The board had cheaper options than Jarrian Jones at the 112th pick, and it noticed. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They paid sticker price for Braelon Allen in the 150th overall pick, and that is fine. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Michael Barrett at slot 190 is money in the bank, a linebacker taken below his worth. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
They will replay Myles Jones at pick 234 for years; that is how good the value is. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
