Green Bay Packers

The Packers got the worse of every deal, and it shows in the D-.

The Trevin Wallace pick is the one that will follow the Packers into the fall. They took him 71 spots ahead of his grade, and the board is not shy about saying so. The board pushed back all weekend, and the D- is the result.

Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through tight end.

They banked enough surplus on Pearl to cover a lot of smaller sins.

In the end, a class the front office will want to grow past quickly.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.25 · Pick 25 · Brian Thomas Jr. · WR · rank 28
In Round 1, Pick 25 they get a weapon on the perimeter. A clean fit for the roster.
R2.21 · Pick 53 · Calen Bullock · S · rank 83
Value said wait; Calen Bullock in pick No. 53 says they were not listening. A minor need, but a need all the same.
R2.26 · Pick 58 · Max Melton · CB · rank 76
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Max Melton well ahead of where he belonged. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
R3.6 · Pick 70 · Kingsley Suamataia · OT · rank 61
Kingsley Suamataia in the Round 3 slot is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
R3.27 · Pick 90 · Zak Zinter · OG · rank 105
Zak Zinter in No. 90 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
R3.28 · Pick 91 · Justin Eboigbe · DL-EDGE · rank 148
Justin Eboigbe at the 91st overall pick is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
R4.6 · Pick 106 · Braelon Allen · RB · rank 106
They took Braelon Allen at par in the Round 4 slot, which is nothing to complain about. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
R4.26 · Pick 126 · Jarrian Jones · CB · rank 136
A reach on Jarrian Jones in slot 126; the board had better options right there. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
R5.25 · Pick 161 · Joe Milton III · QB · rank 200
They reached into another round for Joe Milton III, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
R5.26 · Pick 162 · Trevin Wallace · LB · rank 233
This one needs a full-page explanation: Trevin Wallace in the 162nd overall pick, miles early. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
R5.33 · Pick 169 · Tanor Bortolini · C · rank 188
Tanor Bortolini at pick 169 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
R6.27 · Pick 202 · Tyrice Knight · LB · rank 257
They left a pile of value on the table to take Tyrice Knight this early at pick No. 202. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
R7.6 · Pick 226 · Julian Pearl · OT · rank 203
Steal is underselling it; Julian Pearl at the 226th pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
R7.25 · Pick 245 · Trey Taylor · S · rank 267
A real head-scratcher, Trey Taylor in No. 245 is miles ahead of his ranking. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
R7.35 · Pick 255 · Evan Anderson · DL · rank 282
Evan Anderson in slot 255 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
