Start where it matters. The Giants took J.J. McCarthy to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one.
That interior defensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. They will need Henderson to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 32 they get a long-term answer under center, reach and all. A real need, handled.
Adonai Mitchell at pick No. 39 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
A tidy little value on Chris Braswell in pick 60, a step better than break-even. It fills a real need, too.
Cooper Beebe in the 70th pick is fair value, right on his grade. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Beau Brade in No. 108 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Cam Hart at Round 5, Pick 4 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
No edge and no loss on Dylan Laube in the Round 5 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
LaDarius Henderson in the 157th overall pick is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They took Jaylan Ford at par in Round 6, Pick 10, which is nothing to complain about. A minor need, but a need all the same.
