B-
Las Vegas Raiders
Good, not great, for the Raiders: B-.
by sportelaspgmailcom ·
2024 NFL Draft
· 7 picks
· 1 steals
· 4 reaches
The one they had to fix is still broken. The Raiders left edge rusher untouched, and that omission hangs over an otherwise reasonable haul. A dependable weekend that grades out a B-.
Prather at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. The Ulofoshio pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. Cornerback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 13 they get a ballhawk on the outside, reach and all. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
J.J. McCarthy at the Round 2 slot is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A need, and now a little less of one.
No drama and no debate, Michael Hall Jr. went about where he belonged in slot 77. The roster fit checks out.
They paid up for Sataoa Laumea at pick No. 112 when waiting would have done the job. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
LaDarius Henderson at the 150th overall pick is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Nice patience on Kaden Prather, who had no business lasting to the 190th pick. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They went early on Edefuan Ulofoshio in Round 7, Pick 14, and the value did not follow. A minor itch, scratched.
