There is conviction, and then there is this. The Bills took Isaiah World a full 35 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend.
For all the activity, linebacker went untouched, which is hard to explain. They banked enough surplus on Sarratt to cover a lot of smaller sins.
The trades cost them a sliver of value they did not need to spend. They went 3 of 9 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
Elijah Sarratt is a better player than No. 91 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They reached into another round for Isaiah World, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
A conviction pick on Malik Benson at Round 4, Pick 26 that the board grades a round light. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
They paid up for DJ Campbell at slot 165 when waiting would have done the job. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
The board had Louis Moore higher than the 168th overall pick, and the safety fell to them anyway. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
They left a pile of value on the table to take Robert Spears-Jennings this early at pick No. 220. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
