Nobody dealt better than the Packers this weekend: B.

Boards are made to be trusted, and the Packers shredded theirs for Will Shipley. He came off 42 spots early, and the room will hear about it. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B.

The phones were where this weekend was really won. With quarterback and tight end unsolved, spending premium capital on safety is the choice that costs them.

Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. However the rest shakes out, Coleman at that price is a win they earned.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.30 · Pick 30 · Terrion Arnold · CB · rank 18
In the 30th pick they get a lockdown presence outside, and a steal at that. The biggest hole, addressed.
R2.11 · Pick 43 · Graham Barton · OT · rank 26
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Graham Barton at the 43rd overall pick is the proof. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
R2.30 · Pick 62 · Keon Coleman · WR · rank 43
Keon Coleman in slot 62 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
R2.31 · Pick 63 · Kiran Amegadjie · OT · rank 66
Kiran Amegadjie at pick 63 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It fills a real need, too.
R2.32 · Pick 64 · Dadrion Taylor-Demerson · S · rank 86
This one needs a full-page explanation: Dadrion Taylor-Demerson in Round 2, Pick 32, miles early. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
R3.1 · Pick 65 · Will Shipley · RB · rank 107
They reached a country mile for Will Shipley at pick No. 65, and the board is aghast. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
R3.5 · Pick 69 · Gabriel Murphy · DL-EDGE · rank 92
Gabriel Murphy in slot 69 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
R3.7 · Pick 71 · Cedric Gray · LB · rank 113
A real head-scratcher, Cedric Gray in the 71st pick is miles ahead of his ranking. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
R3.15 · Pick 79 · Leonard Taylor III · DL · rank 110
Leonard Taylor III at pick No. 79 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
R3.32 · Pick 95 · Cole Bishop · S · rank 104
A want over a need in pick 95: Cole Bishop adds a safety while quarterback and tight end keeps waiting.
R4.33 · Pick 133 · Sataoa Laumea · OT · rank 131
Sataoa Laumea in the 133rd overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. The roster fit checks out.
R7.35 · Pick 255 · Tarheeb Still · CB · rank 241
Value with a capital V on Tarheeb Still in No. 255, a genuine coup. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
