The Packers put a flag in the ground for Trevin Wallace, 50 picks before anyone else would have, and the value took the hit. The bottom line is a respectable B+.
The phones were where this weekend was really won. Spending an early pick on linebacker with quarterback, running back and other spots open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to. The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
Getting Rice where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 28 they get a lockdown presence outside at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
They paid sticker price for Edgerrin Cooper in the Round 2 slot, and that is fine. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
A straight-up fair deal on Ruke Orhorhoro at slot 60, value and slot in agreement. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Cooper Beebe in the 66th overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. The roster fit checks out.
They left a pile of value on the table to take Christian Mahogany this early at pick 77. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
They took Cole Bishop at par in the 91st pick, which is nothing to complain about. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Khyree Jackson in Round 3, Pick 30 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
A reach on Gabriel Murphy in slot 96; the board had better options right there. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They bypassed pressing needs at quarterback, running back and other spots to take Trevin Wallace, a linebacker that was not the priority.

Caedan Wallace at pick 113 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A need, and now a little less of one.
A tidy bit of business in the 130th pick, where Brenden Rice graded well above the range. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
