Every other box got a look, but edge rusher did not. The Chargers will head to camp with the same hole they walked in with. It does the job without flash, and the B reflects it.
The Eichenberg steal is the beam this whole class leans on. The roster is better shaped than it was, with interior defensive lineman chief among the fixes.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get an anchor for the offensive line at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Troy Franklin at pick No. 37. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
A tidy bit of business in the 69th overall pick, where Josh Newton graded well above the range. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
By-the-book stuff, Leonard Taylor III at slot 105 squarely in line with his ranking. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Tommy Eichenberg in pick 142 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
