Start where it matters. The Giants took Jayden Daniels to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one.
The cost of the All reach is exactly the players who went right after him. The safety hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Landing Coleman that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.
On the needs board they went 7 of 9, with interior defensive lineman the one that mattered most.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick-by-Pick
They took Jayden Daniels at par in Round 1, Pick 6, which is nothing to complain about. It fills a real need, too.
They paid sticker price for Darius Robinson in the Round 2 slot, and that is fine. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Value with a capital V on Keon Coleman in pick 47, a genuine coup. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Kiran Amegadjie at pick No. 70 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the offensive lineman. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Mekhi Wingo in slot 106 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
A straight-up fair deal on Kalen King at the 140th pick, value and slot in agreement. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
They talked themselves into Erick All at No. 182, and the board did not agree. A need, and now a little less of one.
