Call it larceny. Quinshon Judkins sat on the board until Round 5, Pick 12, and the Dolphins did not need to be asked twice. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.
For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain. If Fleming pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 13 they get a load in the middle at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Malaki Starks in the 48th pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A minor need, but a need all the same.
A market-rate cornerback, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Azareye'h Thomas. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Savion Williams in Round 4, Pick 13. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Circle this one: Danny Stutsman at the 133rd overall pick is a fall that decides a draft. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
They robbed the room for Quinshon Judkins here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Willie Lampkin in slot 154 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Jonah Monheim at pick 224 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
A quiet steal in Round 7, Pick 15: Jackson Hawes for less than the market said. A need, and now a little less of one.
A real head-scratcher, Julian Fleming in the 252nd pick is miles ahead of his ranking. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
