Kansas City Chiefs
The Chiefs cashed the board's mistake on Conner: B-.

· 6 picks
· 4 steals
· 1 reaches
The board owed the Chiefs one, and it paid up: Hayden Conner, the No. 213 name on the board, sitting there at slot 256 like a gift left on the doorstep. The bottom line is a respectable B-.
The Trapilo reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped wide receiver, which is a strange place to end up.
In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 31 they get a rangy last line of defense at a price that makes it sweeter.
No drama and no debate, Demetrius Knight Jr. went about where he belonged in the 63rd overall pick. The roster fit checks out.
Ozzy Trapilo in the 66th pick is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
The board fumbled Alfred Collins all the way to pick 95, and they scooped it up. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Charles Grant in the Round 4 slot should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Circle this one: Hayden Conner at No. 256 is a fall that decides a draft. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
