The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Giants watched Jacob Cowing slide 49 picks past his grade and did not hesitate. This is how you run a draft, and the A- reflects it.
A whole weekend of picks and running back is somehow still a want. A modest surplus at the table, banked quietly. The Giants paired the rookies with proven help, Preston Smith leading the way.
Few war rooms will sleep better than this one tonight.

Calen Bullock in the 36th overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
J.J. McCarthy in the Round 2 slot is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Jonah Elliss at pick No. 54 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Nice patience on Leonard Taylor III, who had no business lasting to No. 69. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Christian Haynes in pick 100 lands just on the right side of the ledger. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
