Somehow the biggest item on the list survived the weekend. The Bills never addressed interior defensive lineman, and it is the kind of gap that lingers.
The Parker II steal is the beam this whole class leans on. They are betting Murdock proves the room right and everyone else wrong. They went 3 of 9 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 26 they get a No. 1 receiver at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Malachi Fields at slot 91 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Brian Parker II at Round 4, Pick 26. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Good price on Beau Stephens in the 165th overall pick, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Kaleb Elarms-Orr at pick 168 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Red Murdock at the 182nd pick is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
A reach for Jimmy Rolder in the Round 7 slot; a little patience would have been rewarded. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
