The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: Jalen Royals, No. 89, roughly 26 picks past where he belonged. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B-.
A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want. They are betting Ratledge proves the room right and everyone else wrong. Running back was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 25th overall pick they get a long-term starter on the line. A real need, handled.
They went early on Tate Ratledge in No. 58, and the value did not follow. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Jalen Royals at Round 3, Pick 25 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Steal is underselling it; Kevin Winston Jr. at the Round 4 slot is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
The board had cheaper options than Ollie Gordon II at pick 167, and it noticed. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Theo Wease Jr. in slot 243 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
