The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: Chris Paul Jr., Round 4, Pick 26, roughly 43 picks past where he belonged. The bottom line is a respectable B-.
Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The Milum pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over.
Running back was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get an anchor for the offensive line, though they paid up to get him. A clean fit for the roster.
Alfred Collins at Round 2, Pick 26 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
They took Jaylin Noel at par in slot 89, which is nothing to complain about. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
A linebacker of that caliber at No. 127 is the definition of value, full stop. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Raheim Sanders at the 167th overall pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
They will replay Jordan Hancock at pick 243 for years; that is how good the value is. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
