They will call it conviction in the building and a reach everywhere else: Kamran James, 103 picks early at the Round 7 slot. A mixed bag that lands at C-.
The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close. On value alone, Miller makes the weekend a net positive.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through wide receiver. Running back is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
In the end, one you will need a couple of seasons to truly judge.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 28 they get a matchup weapon at tight end at a price that makes it sweeter. A real need, handled.
A straight-up fair deal on Emmanuel Pregnon at the 40th pick, value and slot in agreement. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Jake Slaughter at the Round 2 slot nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
The board had Christen Miller higher than slot 69, and the interior defensive lineman fell to them anyway. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
By-the-book stuff, Mike Washington Jr. at the 74th overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
A real head-scratcher, Jude Bowry in Round 4, Pick 6 is miles ahead of his ranking. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Kaytron Allen in pick No. 141 is fair value, right on his grade. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Keyshaun Elliott at pick 210 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Kamran James in slot 243 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
