The Texans' one glaring miss is wide receiver, a need they left exactly as they found it. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.
The Banks steal is the beam this whole class leans on. They left with running back solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but wide receiver.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 28 they get a run-stuffing presence up front at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Emmanuel Pregnon in the 38th pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A need, and now a little less of one.
A tidy bit of business in pick 59, where Caleb Banks graded well above the range. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Jake Slaughter slid further than he should have, and the 69th overall pick is lovely value for the offensive lineman. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
The board had Jonah Coleman higher than slot 106, and the running back fell to them anyway. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Nothing to complain about; Kaleb Proctor went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Kage Casey at the Round 5 slot nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
TJ Hall slipping to Round 7, Pick 27 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
