Thirty-one other rooms let Thaddeus Dixon slide, and the Texans were the ones holding the card at Round 7, Pick 27. Highway robbery. Good, not great, and the B says as much.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through edge rusher. They left with running back solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 28th overall pick they get a red-zone target to build around at a price that makes it sweeter.
Emmanuel Pregnon in the 38th pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Caleb Banks at slot 59 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
No drama and no debate, Jadarian Price went about where he belonged in the Round 3 slot. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Sam Hecht in pick No. 106 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Good price on Kaleb Proctor in No. 141, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They took Eric Rivers at par in pick 167, which is nothing to complain about. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They barely believed it either: Thaddeus Dixon still on the board at Round 7, Pick 27. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
