Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Connor Lew got past him. The Texans do not have to explain a thing at the Round 4 slot.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through edge rusher. Every board in the league had Dunker lower, and that gap is the story.
Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 28 they get a building block for the line. A clean fit for the roster.
Gennings Dunker at the 38th pick is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
A tidy little value on Christen Miller in slot 59, a step better than break-even. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
No drama and no debate, Mike Washington Jr. went about where he belonged in pick 69. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Connor Lew in No. 106 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Bishop Fitzgerald in the 141st overall pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Eric Rivers in Round 5, Pick 27 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Jaren Kanak at the Round 7 slot is the proof. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
