The Texans looked at the value chart, folded it up, and took Dasan McCullough at Round 7, Pick 11 regardless, 96 picks early. More right than wrong, and a B to match.

They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it. The Lance pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. A modest surplus at the table, banked quietly.

Running back is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.
