The rest of the league will want that one back. Eli Stowers tumbling to the Dolphins in the Round 3 slot is a gift they did not have to think twice about. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.
The Moore pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with quarterback, edge rusher and other spots still on the board. Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 11 they get a press-man option on the boundary at fair value.
In the 30th overall pick they get a downhill thumper at linebacker at a price that makes it sweeter. A clean fit for the roster.
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Blake Miller. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
A tidy bit of business in the Round 3 slot, where Antonio Williams graded well above the range. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Ted Hurst in slot 90 lands just on the right side of the ledger. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
They barely believed it either: Eli Stowers still on the board at pick 91. It fills a real need, too.
They bypassed pressing needs at quarterback, edge rusher and other spots to take Devin Moore, a cornerback that was not the priority.
