The Packers spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Tre Harris, the No. 35 name on the board, in the Round 5 slot. The bottom line is a respectable B.
The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer. They went 3 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 23rd overall pick they get a press-man option on the boundary, outstanding value to boot. The biggest hole, addressed.
A safety of that caliber at the Round 2 slot is the definition of value, full stop. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Ajani Cornelius at pick No. 87 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It fills a real need, too.
Jabbar Muhammad in slot 119 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
You do not let a wide receiver like Tre Harris reach Round 5, Pick 23 and blink. They did not. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Riley Mahlman in pick 183 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
They robbed the room for Bryce Foster here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
