For all the names on the card, the loudest question went unanswered. The Eagles walked out of the weekend still thin at edge rusher, a hole that has a way of deciding seasons.
If McClellan pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Mustapha.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick-by-Pick
Quinyon Mitchell in the 22nd pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
No drama and no debate, Junior Colson went about where he belonged in slot 50. It adds depth where they could use a little.
A straight-up fair deal on Kamren Kinchens at the Round 2 slot, value and slot in agreement. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
No edge and no loss on Jalen McMillan in Round 3, Pick 34; it is a wash and a sensible one. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
A tidy bit of business in No. 160, where Malik Mustapha graded well above the range. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
A clean, defensible pick in the 170th overall pick with a little surplus value in Javion Cohen. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
A big swing on Jase McClellan at pick 171, well ahead of any board in the building. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
