The Chiefs bet big and early on Edefuan Ulofoshio, 77 picks ahead of the board. Bold does not always mean right. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B-.
The Morgan pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. For all the activity, tight end went untouched, which is hard to explain.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the tight end spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 32 they get a sticky cover corner, even if it was a touch early.
Jordan Morgan in pick 64 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
No drama and no debate, Brenden Rice went about where he belonged in pick No. 95. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Steal is underselling it; Braelon Allen at the Round 4 slot is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
A big swing on Edefuan Ulofoshio at the 159th overall pick, well ahead of any board in the building. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
They jumped the gun on Ty'Ron Hopper, taking him earlier than his grade liked. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Keilan Robinson at slot 252 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
