Good, not great, for the Cardinals: B-.

The Cardinals clearly saw something nobody else did in Vernon Broughton, taking him 40 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.

That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. On value alone, Williams makes the weekend a net positive.

A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.16 · Pick 16 · Josh Conerly Jr. · OT · rank 36
In pick 16 they get a long-term starter on the line, though the board says they badly overpaid. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
R2.15 · Pick 47 · Tyleik Williams · DT · rank 39
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Tyleik Williams in No. 47. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
R3.14 · Pick 78 · Riley Leonard · QB · rank 106
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Riley Leonard well ahead of where he belonged. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
R4.13 · Pick 114 · Vernon Broughton · DL · rank 154
They talked themselves into Vernon Broughton at Round 4, Pick 13, and the board did not agree. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
R5.14 · Pick 153 · Pat Bryant · WR · rank 146
Pat Bryant at pick No. 153 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
