Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Elic Ayomanor got past him. The Chiefs do not have to explain a thing at slot 132.
The offensive lineman spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. The cost of the Warren reach is exactly the players who went right after him.
The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes. They trusted the board more than the depth chart.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but offensive lineman.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 32 they get a security blanket over the middle, reach and all. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Circle this one: Jihaad Campbell at the 64th pick is a fall that decides a draft. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Alfred Collins in Round 3, Pick 2 lands just on the right side of the ledger. It fills a real need, too.
Taking Andrew Mukuba in the 96th overall pick is close to grand larceny; a safety that good had no business lasting this long. A minor need, but a need all the same.
They barely believed it either: Elic Ayomanor still on the board at the Round 4 slot. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
