The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: Jabbar Muhammad, the 128th overall pick, roughly 101 picks past where he belonged.
They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want. Adding Benjamin St-Juste by trade rounds out the weekend beyond the rookies.
They will need Fairchild to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.
Add it up and few war rooms did better this weekend, Princely Umanmielen and all.
Pick-by-Pick
A quiet steal in the 36th pick: Princely Umanmielen for less than the market said. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Steal is underselling it; Kenneth Grant at Round 2, Pick 32 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It fills a real need, too.
Nice patience on Ajani Cornelius, who had no business lasting to the 69th overall pick. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Somehow Oscar Delp was still sitting there in pick No. 96, and they pounced on premier tight end value. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
A cornerback of that caliber at No. 128 is the definition of value, full stop. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Tre Harris in the Round 5 slot is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Wyatt Milum in slot 193 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A premium they did not need to pay, Dylan Fairchild a notch or two before his time. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
