The Chiefs went off the board in a big way for Isaac Guerendo, 33 picks early. Conviction is one thing; this is another. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.
Landing Pritchett that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. That tight end hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick-by-Pick
Kingsley Suamataia at the 32nd pick is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
A conviction pick on Michael Hall Jr. at the Round 3 slot that the board grades a round light. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
They talked themselves into Isaac Guerendo at No. 95, and the board did not agree. A need, and now a little less of one.
Mason McCormick in Round 4, Pick 32 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Nehemiah Pritchett in the 159th overall pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Xavier Thomas at slot 164 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
A big swing on Ryan Flournoy at pick No. 173, well ahead of any board in the building. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
By-the-book stuff, Jaylan Ford at pick 205 squarely in line with his ranking. The roster fit checks out.
A straight-up fair deal on Tyrice Knight at the 252nd overall pick, value and slot in agreement. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
