The Chiefs spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Jihaad Campbell, the No. 38 name on the board, in No. 64.
A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want. They will need Broughton to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.
The offense got the lion's share of the attention.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 32 they get a cornerstone up front. Exactly the need they had to hit.
The board fumbled Jihaad Campbell all the way to slot 64, and they scooped it up. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
They robbed the room for Tyler Warren here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Tai Felton in pick No. 96 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
They liked Vernon Broughton enough to skip the value, taking him in Round 4, Pick 31. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
