Larceny in pick 63 lands the Chiefs a B, Emmanwori and all.

Somebody in slot 63 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Chiefs sat still while Nick Emmanwori, the No. 22 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium.

If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through tight end. Reaching for Broughton left real value on the table behind him.

Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.31 · Pick 31 · Emeka Egbuka · WR · rank 24
In the 31st pick they get a home-run threat at receiver. The biggest hole, addressed.
R2.31 · Pick 63 · Nick Emmanwori · S · rank 22
They robbed the room for Nick Emmanwori here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
R3.2 · Pick 66 · Tate Ratledge · OG · rank 75
Tate Ratledge in pick No. 66 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
R3.31 · Pick 95 · Hollin Pierce · OT · rank 114
Hollin Pierce at pick 95 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
R4.31 · Pick 132 · Vernon Broughton · DL · rank 154
Value said wait; Vernon Broughton in the 132nd overall pick says they were not listening. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
R7.40 · Pick 256 · Garrett Dellinger · OG · rank 269
They paid up for Garrett Dellinger at slot 256 when waiting would have done the job. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
