The one they had to fix is still broken. The Chiefs left tight end untouched, and that omission hangs over an otherwise reasonable haul. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.
The Ulofoshio steal is the beam this whole class leans on. The Jefferson pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. They went 5 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.
In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 32 they get a cornerstone up front at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Good price on Malachi Corley in pick No. 64, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Khyree Jackson in pick 95 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
A clean, defensible pick in the 132nd overall pick with a little surplus value in Isaac Guerendo. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Nice patience on Jacob Cowing, who had no business lasting to the 159th pick. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Jordan Jefferson at the Round 5 slot jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. It fills a real need, too.
A slide stopped in slot 252, with Edefuan Ulofoshio worth more than the price. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
