Call it larceny. Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint sat on the board until slot 252, and the Chiefs did not need to be asked twice.
That tight end hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The Murphy reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. Job largely done: wide receiver settled and 4 of 8 of the wish list covered.
They trusted the board more than the depth chart.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but tight end.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 32nd pick they get a ballhawk on the outside at a price that makes it sweeter.
The board fumbled Xavier Legette all the way to the Round 2 slot, and they scooped it up. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They will replay Kiran Amegadjie at Round 3, Pick 32 for years; that is how good the value is. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Audric Estime at pick 132 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Grayson Murphy. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Christian Jones in pick No. 173 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Taking Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint in slot 252 is close to grand larceny; a wide receiver that good had no business lasting this long. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
